Our volunteers have been busy since this afternoon, as heavy rains caused flooding throughout parts of York County. Boat 59 responded to 3 different incidents within Hellam and Chanceford Townships for water rescue related calls, while Engine 591 responded to 2 incidents, both within Shrewsbury Township. Upon units clearing from calls, flooding conditions started in Glen Rock Borough. Crews ensured effected residents were securely sheltered and provided traffic control to direct traffic away from the effected areas. Crews are currently still out, clearing debris from roadways.

We would like to send a special thank you to Goodwill Fire Co. of Jacobus (station 18) for transferring a water rescue crew to our area to provide assistance, Mama’s Pizza of Glen Rock for donating food to help feed our crews, and Citizens Volunteer Fire Company for providing a crew to assist with clean up. ...
